Custom Table: Old Ways, New

In collaboration with Yuggera Traditional Owner Gaja Kerry Charlton, Old Ways, New is a reminder of the interconnectedness, deep respect for Country and belonging. The concept talks to the local landscape and provides a narrative that explores Indigenous knowledge, innovation and efficiency to grow a deeper appreciation for Aboriginal knowledge and continuing connection first people have with Country.

In response a custom breakout table was designed by Blaklash’s Aboriginal Interior Designer, Erin McDonald and Aboriginal Fabricator and owner of Blackwood Collective, Gareth Robertson. Encompassing Quandamooka, Nunukul woman and artist Casey Coolwell-Fisher’s hand painted artwork onto the curved legs, with the community links artwork representing communities coming together and sharing their stories.
