Masterplan
Engagement in the Masterplanning stage provides community the most influence on project outcomes if offered agency.
We engage with community and work with the project team during the Masterplanning phase to understand site context, relevant traditional knowledges, and a cultural narrative for the site for translation through the built form in future stages.
Co-Design
Designing with Country ensures culture is embedded within design rather than effected as an afterthought.
Given our experience as designers, we work alongside and within project design teams to translate cultural narratives into appropriate design outcomes that are incorporated into the building fabric through form, materiality, colour, and texture.
Landscape
Embedding First Nations culture within landscapes is second nature.
We help people to connect with Country through landscapes by embedding culture through form, planting, materiality, lighting, and public art interventions, and working with design teams to educate the industry on the importance and impact of designing with Country.
Interior
Interior design provides an opportunity to integrate culture into everyday items that interacted with often.
We work with design teams to enrich projects by incorporating cultural elements visually through finishes selections, colour palette, and patternation, and encourage community participation through specification of Indigenous businesses for finishes, furniture, and trades.
Public Art
Public art provides the opportunity to share, educate, enlighten, entertain, and capture the attention of people as they pass through spaces.
We support clients in delivering public art projects of all scales through the development of curatorial narratives, artist briefs, artist shortlists, and project management from concept development through to fabrication and installation.
Curatorial
Given First Nations Australians’ long and complex history with the arts, art curation provides another opportunity to engage with community and incorporate artworks into spaces that tell stories of Country, culture, and community.
We work with a range of clients to curate artworks for spaces of all sizes to ensure relevant works are selected and showcased on projects.
